The beach at Pemaquid, the Rachel Carson salt pond preserve, watching the Hardy Boat arrive from Monhegan at Shaw’s Wharf; plus our area trails, forests, ponds, and streams—all waiting to be explored and enjoyed.

The areas surrounding Damariscotta and Newcastle, and south to Bristol and South Bristol are rich with history, natural wonders, and a wide variety of cultural opportunities. The scenic beauty is breathtaking, the local inhabitants are welcoming, and it’s a wonderful place to call ‘home.’

We are fortunate to have a number of important volunteer organizations dedicated to protecting our beautiful scenery and local habitats, such as the Damariscotta River Association, the Midcoast Conservancy, and the Pemaquid Watershed Association, among several others.
